Advanced Retreats

Retreats offer the opportunity to gain a deeper experience of meditation than in daily life. On retreat we withdraw from our usual routine and structure our time and conditions so that we can get the most out of our meditation.
These particular retreats give the chance to explore particular practices in depth. They are suitable for those with some existing experience of meditation and are unguided. Explanation of the practices can be give before sessions if you are new to them.

Meditation Workshops

Meditation is a powerful technique for developing a peaceful mind and inner good qualities. The meditation workshops provide quality meditation with clear explanations of the skills required to create stillness within, but are shorter and lighter than our day courses.

A meditation workshop consists of two sessions that include guided meditations, explanation, and discussion. The emphasis is on practicing meditation and applying the experience we gain from it to improve the quality of our life.

Workshops are a perfect way to both relax and develop internally. They are ideal for those who are new to meditation and those who would like to improve.

Stop the Week in Style

Bowl-of-tomatoe-soup

Friday night has never been so fine as at Buddha Land Kadampa Buddhist Centre’s monthly Stop the Week.

Relax at the end of the week at the Keighley Centre with a guided meditation and delicious three course vegetarian meal.

The evening begins at 7.30pm with a guided meditation and short talk to bring some inner peace and spiritual focus to the week. This can get neglected during the busyness of the week so this is a chance to readdress the balance. This is followed by dinner at our World Peace Cafe which has excelled itself on every occasion. It is also a fantastic opportunity to meet others who are interested in meditation and maybe to learn a tip or two.

We only cater for the number booked so please let us know in advance if you would like to come. It is usually possible to cater for special dietary requirements if good notice is given. Group bookings are welcome.

The cost is £14.50 per person. Please book in advance by calling the centre or by following the booking link below.

This course will be taught by Gen Kelsang Päljin the Resident Teacher of Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre and of Buddha Land Buddhist Centre, Keighley. He is a Buddhist monk with over 18 years’ experience of practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism.

Day Courses

discussingDay courses are an ideal way to learn more about meditation and inner peace. Each course examines a particular aspect of Buddha’s teachings in greater depth than would be possible during an evening class. Particular attention is paid to how meditation can be used in practice especially in solving problems in our daily life.

The day courses at Buddha Land are taught by Gen Kelsang Päljin, a Buddhist Monk and the Resident Teacher of Buddha Land Kadamapa Buddhist Centre.

Weekly Meditation Classes

Solve daily problems, develop peace of mind, improve your health and find meaning & purpose in life. Classes include guided meditations and explanation of how to meditate and practise in daily life. They are run on a drop-in basis so you can join at any stage.

Classes are suitable for complete beginners, those with some experience of meditation and more advanced meditators wishing to go deeper with their practice.

Guided Retreats

Retreats are an opportunity to take time out from a busy lifestyle to focus on our meditation practice. This will allow us to gain a deep understanding of Buddha’s teachings that we have gained though our study and daily practice.

During a day retreat we cut back on our normal activities and take time to focus on our spiritual practice. Through this we can gain a deep understanding and have a special experience of inner peace.

people-prayingThe chanted prayers at Buddha Land Centre are a chance to help bring peace to this world though prayer and meditation.

Dedicated to world peace these chanted prayers are the perfect method to bring our meditation practice to life. By engaging in these prayers for the benefit of all we can pacify our inner obstacles, gather the necessary internal conditions for realizations and receive the inspiration of pure beings. In this way we can bring lasting peace to our troubled world.
