The Resident Teacher of Buddha Land Centre is Gen Kelsang Päljin, a Western Buddhist Monk and close disciple of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Gen Kelsang Päljin has practised and studied Kadampa Buddhism for over 25 years.
Having strong faith and dedication, he is much loved by his students for his precise and clear instructions of Buddha’s teachings, the Dharma. Using everyday examples he is able to show how meditation can be practiced leading to lasting happiness. He is particularly skilful at providing his students with perfect opportunities to improve themselves both for their personal benefit and for the benefit of the community as a whole. His exemplary teachings are deeply insightful and practical and delivered with great warmth and compassion.
Previously he studied at Madhyamaka Buddhist Centre, York, and Amitabha Buddhist Centre, Bristol. At Madhyamaka Centre he taught the Sunday Foundation Programme and evening classes in Leeds. He also assisted with the daily running of the centre, helping to provide facilities and support for the meditation courses and retreats.
