The Walks for World Peace combine walking and meditation, giving an opportunity to meet like minded people from the various meditation groups run by Buddha Land. Walks typically last up to 3hrs including a break for meditation and lunch. On route there is a simple guided meditation that is suitable for beginners and those experience in meditation alike.
Saturday September 10th. Time 10am
Hardcastle Crags, near Hebden Bridge
Join us on a 5 mile circular walk around the renowned Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge.
The walk will start with a bracing climb up the beautiful Crimsworth Dean valley on the Haworth Old Road (now a farm track). We will then turn left crossing the edge of Shackleton Moor until we reach the little farming hamlet of Walshaw. Then it will be all downhill through the National Trust Woodland known as Hardcastle Crags down to a picnic lunch near Gibson Mill and then the path along the river which leads back down to the carpark.
Those less mobile, or wishing for an easier alternative, could chose to walk directly from the carpark to Gibson Mill and meet us there.
Meet at the Hardcastle Crags National Trust carpark, at Midgehole, (which is just outside Hebden Bridge along a turn off from the Keighley and Haworth road) at 10am. There is a car park fee unless you are a National trust member.
Everyone is welcome. On route, there will be a guided meditation to enjoy. Please bring your own packed lunch and weather appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for all walking conditions.
