Beamsely Beacon with picnic at Bolton Abbey
Sunday 11 June – meeting at St Peters Church Addingham
Both the Burnely and Keighley Centres are requiring significant works to keep them functioning.
Brunside Mill has proved to be a great addition offering an oasis of peace in the centre of Burnley. It has proved to be a very popular location with its beautiful meditation rooms but it is a large undertaking requiring significant funds to refurbish this former mill for all to enjoy. While the Centre in Keighley is requiring ongoing works to the roof to maintain its weather tightness.
Walking from Addingham Town Centre the walk will climb up towards Beamsley Beacon. Leaving behind the pastures open moorland will open out with beautiful views towards Barden Fell, Simons Seat and across Wharfedale. Dropping down to Bolton Abbey vias Storiths we will stop at the Abbey ruins for a picnic before returning to Addingham via the Dales Way. Meet at 9am outside St Peters Church Addingham. The walk is approximately 10 miles. Parking is readily available in the village.
If you would just like to join us for the picnic please meet us at 12.30pm at Bolton Abbey. Bring food to share.
