Forgiving Yourself and Others
Saturday 5 Nov, 10am – 1pm
Experience the deep healing and freedom that comes through the power of forgiveness. By dwelling on the harm done to us, we harm ourselves even more. By learning to forgive ourselves and others we create health, loving relationships and a happy life.
We can all feel hurt sometimes, as a result of the words or actions of others. We may find it hard to let go of that hurt and forgive others. This often leads to us feeling anger or resentment. If we don’t have a skilful way to recognise and let go of that hurt, anger and resentment it can easily undermine our peace of mind and happiness, as well as harmony in our relationships.
Also, we may say or do hurtful things to others from time-to-time, and find it hard to forgive ourselves. This feeling of guilt and shame can leave us feeling bad about ourselves and undermine our own peace of mind and self-esteem.
In this course we will learn proven meditations and methods that enable us to change this. We will learn how we can view every situation with the wisdom and compassion that empowers us to let go of feelings of hurt, anger or resentment towards others, or guilt and shame towards ourselves.
Half Day Courses offer the opportunity to learn more about Buddhist teachings and meditations for developing peace of mind. They are ideal for those who are new to Buddhist meditation and those who would like to improve. Anyone can attend this meditation event; it is suitable for complete beginners and those with experience. Everyone is welcome.
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Café during the course.
The cost is £15 (£5 for Monthly Members and free for FP members).
This course will be taught by Gen Kelsang Päljin, the Resident Teacher of Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre and of Buddha Land Buddhist Centre, Keighley. He is a Buddhist monk with over 20 years’ experience of practising and teaching Buddhist meditation.
