Contentment and Letting Go
Meditation Workshop
@ Burnley KBC
Saturday 5 October, 10am – 1pm
In-person and livestream
“Without contentment, a rich man will think he is poor”- Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
By learning to be happy with, and grateful for, what we have, we can overcome dissatisfaction, simplify our lives and focus more easily on internal changes.
In our modern, materialistic world we are often encouraged to believe that the more we have the happier we will be. Better external conditions such as houses, clothes, electronic goods, holidays, money, reputation, status, are seen as true causes of happiness. But in reality those who are richest in terms of monetary wealth and status are less happy than those who are more content but have less.
In our finite world, with ever increasing material consumption, goods and resources are limited and fast being depleted. But development and accumulation of internal riches is unlimited, without harmful repercussions.
In this meditation course we will learn how to be more content and satisfied, how to let go of desires and attachments and how to control our acquisitive nature. This course will include guided meditations, which will help us to develop a peaceful and positive mind.
Our half day meditation workshops are an ideal way to learn more about meditation and inner peace. They are designed for those who are new to meditation but also for those who would like to improve and deepen their understanding.
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Café during the course.
The cost of the course is £15 (Monthly Members £5, FP Monthly Members £0).
Our monthly membership programme offers access to all our weekly classes as well as discounts on courses for only £20 per month – Learn more.
