A day retreat is an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of Buddha’s teachings and have a special experience of inner peace.
During this retreat day we will explore simple meditations for experiencing a quiet and peaceful mind. With such a still mind we are able to reflect clearly on life, understanding how move forward in a benefical way. The meditation sessions will be guided. Between sessions there will be silence for personal contemplation and reflection.

The cost of the day retreat is £25 (Centre Membership Scheme £20).
Lunch and refreshments are provided during the day retreat. Numbers are limited to 16 places on this retreat so please book in advance to secure your place.
9am – 9.30am – Arrival and reception
9.30am – 10.45am – Session 1 guided meditation
11.45am – 1.00pm – Session 2 guided meditation
1pm – Lunch
3.15pm – 4.30pm – Session 3 guided meditation
4.30pm – 5.00pm – Windup and departure
The sessions will be guided by Gen Kelsang Paljin, Resident Teacher of Buddha Land and Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre who is appreciated for offering clear guidance on meditation and living a a positive life.
Friends Meeting House, Airton, North Yorkshire, BD23 4AE
The retreat is being held at the Friends Meeting House in Airton. Located on the Pennine Way Walking Route the Meeting House is beautifully situated with its own grounds adjacent to the upper reaches of the River Aire. The surroundings are beautiful and ideal for talking short walks.
Between sessions you will be able to relax in the grounds, surrounding area or in the snug.
Airton is on the road from Gargrave and Malham and is a short drive from Skipton. Leave the A65 at Gargrave and follow signs to Malham and Airton. You can park along the Meeting House side of Hellified Road / Calton Lane.
The closest rail stations are Gargrave (3 miles) and Skipton (11 miles). Taxis cost approximately £17-£18 from Skipton. Airton is on bus routes 210 and 211 service from Skipton via Gargrave to Malham.
