Visualisation and Symbolism
Half Day Course
Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre
Saturday 19 May, 10am – 1pm
Buddhist art is both beautiful and meaningful. Learn to recognise and understand some of the symbols and meanings portrayed in Buddhist art and how we can use them in meditation to transform our experience.
The course will include explanations of the Eight Auspicious Signs, which are key symbols in Buddhism and reveal the path to enlightenment.
We will explore the meaning of Buddhist art in the context of meditation practice. Our main focus, therefore, is not the history of Buddhist art, but the meanings hidden in its iconography and how we use them to find deep and lasting happiness.
The cost of the half day course is £12 (GP Centre Card £5). Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the course.
