Love, Desire and Attachment
Buddha Land Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Keighley
Saturday 8 April, 10am – 1pm
Free your self from painful emotions, grief and anxiety. By distinguishing between love & attachment develop a feeling of warmth towards everyone.
Why is it that so often our relationships and interactions with others result in a storm of painful emotions? Why do we feel so much grief when we are separated from those we care for? And why does what appears to be a “perfect match” so often end in conflict? The answer to all these questions can be found within Buddha’s teachings on love, desire and attachment.
If we wish to enjoy good relationships, it is essential that we learn to distinguish between love and attachment. These two are easily confused, but it is vital to discriminate between them, for love will bring us only happiness, whereas the mind of attachment will bring us only suffering. Attachment gives rise to problems and suffering such as craving, jealousy, dependency and conflict but love never produces such problems.
During this course we will learn how to distinguish between these minds and free ourselves from desirous attachment, while cultivating a pure love for others.
This course is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to experienced meditators.
Workshops are a perfect way to both relax and develop internally. They are ideal for those who are new to meditation and those who would like to improve.
The cost of the workshop is £12 (GP Centre Card £5).
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the workshop. Why not also stay for lunch afterwards?
