Learning to Let Go
Half Day Course
Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre
Saturday 8 December, 10am – 1pm
So much of our mental and physical energy is consumed by holding on to negative thoughts and painful memories. Each of us carry within us a heavy burden of negativity comprised of both negative mental habits and the residue of our past unskillful actions. By learning to let go we can experience the freedom of a peaceful mind.
This course will explain a powerful method for letting go of painful thoughts and feelings and experiencing deep inner peace. We will explore Buddha’s teachings on the nature of reality and discover how we can develop real inner freedom by learning to understand the illusory nature of things. This wisdom enables us deeply let go of all problems and fears and gives rise to innumerable benefits.
This course is equally suitable for those with no meditation experience and those wanting to refresh their knowledge.
The cost of the half day course is £12.50 (GP Centre Card £5). Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the course.
This course will be taught by Jim Allison. Jim has many years’ experience studying and teaching Buddhist meditation. He explains meditation simply and accessibly so that everyone is able to gain greater peace of mind. He is a student on the Foundation Programme at Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre.
