Introduction to Buddhism
Half Day Course
Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre
Saturday 13 October, 2pm – 5pm
An opportunity to deepen our understandings about Buddha’s teachings and their implication for living a fulfilling and happy life.
Although Buddhism is an ancient religion that first appeared in the East, the practices taught by Buddha are timeless and universally applicable. These days, many people, of all religions and backgrounds, are discovering that Buddhism has answers to questions and solutions to the problems in everyday life which many people are seeking.
On this half day-course we will learn the essential principles of the Buddhist teachings and way of life, and how to apply this extraordinary ancient wisdom to our everyday lives and problems, in the modern world.
You may also be interested in the morning workshop, Introduction to Meditation. There is a discounted price for people attending both events.
This workshop is equally suitable for those with no meditation experience and those wanting to refresh their knowledge.
The cost of the half day course is £12.50 (GP Centre Card £5) or combine it with our afternoon course Learn to Meditate in Half a Day for £18.
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the course.
This course will be taught by Gen Kelsang Päljin the Resident Teacher of Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre and of Buddha Land Buddhist Centre, Keighley. He is a Buddhist monk with over 18 years’ experience of practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism.
