Developing a Strong Mind
Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Burnley
Saturday 3 Mar, 10am – 1pm
In this workshop we will learn meditations to help us keep a strong, peaceful and happy mind at all times, even in difficult circumstances.
Life throws many challenges at us. It’s difficult to get through a single day without unwanted things happening to us. Rather than getting upset about the inevitable, we would be wise to use life’s difficulties to make us stronger.
Whatever comes up, we can turn it to our advantage. Buddhist master Shantideva says, suffering has many good qualities because it purifies our negative karma, increases our intention to develop inner resources, increases our compassion, reduces our pride, and helps us to overcome bad mental habits. If we think in this way we will learn to feel that difficult circumstances are our best friends. If we train our mind in this way, everything we encounter will increase our wisdom and mental resilience.
Workshops are a perfect way to both relax and develop internally. They are ideal for those who are new to meditation and those who would like to improve.
The cost of the workshop is £12 (GP Centre Card £5).
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the workshop. Why not also stay for homemade soup afterwards?
